FLORIDA GIRLS DATABOOK LAUNCH

We are thrilled to announce the official launch of the Florida Girls Databook, a groundbreaking study that puts Florida’s 1.3 million "at-promise" girls front and center. For the first time, we have the data to highlight the experiences and challenges "at-promise" girls face in their communities, homes, and schools.

This pivotal moment will help us build a brighter future by informing action and change at the local and state level.

The Florida Girls Databook is based on extensive research and surveys, providing a detailed snapshot of the realities faced by girls across the state. From educational challenges to the pressures of mental health and trauma, this Databook uncovers the lived experiences of "at-promise" girls. The findings bring to light how we can better support these girls, helping them achieve their fullest potential and break through barriers to success.

• 65% of Florida girls live with distress or crisis circumstances.
   
• More than 58% of girls report feeling sad or depressed daily.
   
• 44% of Florida girls have thought about suicide in the past year.
   
• Florida girls experience higher rates of substance abuse and emotional neglect compared to boys.
   

These findings show us the urgency of our work and the importance of 

providing girls with the support they need.
